TaoMountain is an organization dedicated to the research and advancement of traditional Thai medicine and building bridges between Eastern and Western healthcare. Our General Membership is a community of practitioners and teachers of Thai medicine. We ask for a small annual donation from these members to assist us in funding our research projects and grant program. 10% of your membership dues is remitted to the Shivago Fund for charitable activities in Thailand. Our members receive the following services: Online Resource Center — This password-protected area of our website provides a virtual library containing translations of Thai scriptures, hundreds of photos, videos of Thai massage and traditional ceremonies, audio recordings, e-books, academic articles, research postings from our members, a database of Thai herbs, back issues of our newsletters and journals... and more coming every month. This area also has all sorts of free downloads, promotional materials, member stock photography galleries, brochures, and logistical support for Thai medicine related business, as well as discounts from retailers of traditional Thai supplies and educational materials. Sharing Ideas — Members are enrolled for our periodic email newsletter and access to our Virtual Library of articles on Thai medicine. This is a collection of research articles, case studies, stories from Thailand, how-to’s, photo-essays, creative writing, and Q & A’s written by experts in the field, as well as academic materials from scholars involved in the research of Thai medicine around the world. Our contributors include medical professionals, travelers, academics, herbalists and massage therapists. Contributions are accepted from diverse backgrounds to encourage dialogue and mutual learning as we attempt to build bridges between Eastern and Western approaches to health and healing. Online Forum — A discussion center for therapy ideas, business proposals, networking, intellectual exchange, and getting to know one another. Readers of our journal and newsletters have the opportunity to ask questions of the authors and engage in dialogue with other members about contemporary topics in Thai healing. This forum also includes job postings, and news updates relating to Thailand. |
