This course looks at the historical interactions between Buddhism and
medicine, with particular focus on Theravada and Mahayana Buddhism.
Our course matierals combine academic writings with Pali, Sanskrit,
and Chinese sources to provide an overview of both theory and
practice.
Since the earliest phase of Buddhism, medicine has been an integral part of the dharma.
